We’re about halfway through the summer growing season so I thought I’d take a break from peaches and share how my gardens are doing.

The watermelon is vining everywhere! It’s not all leaves – there’s baby watermelons tooThe kabocha pumpkin plant survived and has its own surpriseThere are cobs developing on the corn stalksThe sunflowers are developing headsSunflowers have such an interesting patternThis Golden Zucchini is ready to pickThe beans are running up the “trellis”Here’s a crookneck squash ready to harvestIt may be a lonely marigold but it’s a thrivingbright spot in the garden
OTHER GARDEN AREAS
The fig is enormous! Two of the three elderberry plants are thrivingThe Gypsy Peppers and Habanero Peppers are plugging along in the GreenstalkplantersThe tomatoes in the Greenstalk planter are starting to turn redMore redness in another planterPlus lots of hope for even more tomatores! The brick bed seeded with cosmos and other flowers looks a little ratty but it’s been working nicely as a decoy for Japanese beetles
They aren’t pictured here but the herb garden, apple trees, and boysenberries are doing well too!
